Special Events Unit

The Special Events Unit is a programme under the Department of Public Information, which was established in 1946, by General Assembly resolution 13, to promote global awareness and understanding of the work of the United Nations.

Through the efforts of the Special Events Unit, the United Nations continues to bring awareness to the issues and work of the UN through creative partnerships with the media, non-profit organizations and the entertainment industry.
